Using Your Brand Photos on LinkedIn

How to Use Your Brand Photos on LinkedIn to Build a Leadership Presence

After a photoshoot, most people feel a lift in confidence.

You have strong images. You feel clear on how you want to be seen.

But then the question comes quickly:
how do I actually use these in a way that builds something long term?

The clients featured below are a good example of what this can look like in practice.

They’re not just posting photos.
They’re using them deliberately to support how they show up, what they say, and how they’re remembered.

Below are LinkedIn profile case studies (videos) to show you how to make the most use of your photos, with ideas shared.

1. Adding Text to Images

To make your perspective immediately clear

This works well when you want to lead with a key idea.

A short line over your image can:

  • highlight a strong opinion

  • introduce the theme of your post

  • give context before someone even reads the caption

The key is to keep it tight and specific.

Think of it as a headline, not a paragraph.

When done well, this format makes your content easier to engage with and more likely to be shared.

2. Sharing Testimonials as Visual Content

To build credibility in a way people will actually notice

Testimonials are often underused on LinkedIn.

When you pair them with a strong image, they become much more visible.

You can:

  • overlay a short client quote onto your image

  • share a screenshot alongside your photo

  • write a short post reflecting on the work and include the testimonial

This helps people understand the impact of what you do, without you needing to over-explain it.

It’s simple, but very effective.

3. Pairing Photos with Thought Leadership

To help your content stand out in a busy feed

A good image helps stop the scroll.

That moment matters.

It gives your writing a better chance of being read.

Clients are using their photos alongside posts where they:

  • share lessons from their work

  • reflect on leadership or industry trends

  • offer a clear point of view

The image doesn’t need to be complicated.

It just needs to feel aligned with how you want to be seen — professional, thoughtful, and consistent.

4. Creating a Series of Posts

To build recognition over time

One post won’t do the full job.

Consistency is what builds familiarity.

Instead of using one image once, clients are:

  • using a small set of images across multiple posts

  • cropping or reframing them for variety

  • keeping a similar visual style across their content

Over time, this helps people recognise you quickly in their feed.

That recognition builds trust.

5. Making It Easier to Show Up Consistently

So content doesn’t feel like a constant effort

One of the biggest shifts I see is this:

When you have a strong bank of images, showing up becomes easier.

You’re not scrambling for what to post.
You’re not relying on last-minute photos.

You already have content that represents you well.

That allows you to focus on what actually matters —
your ideas, your message, your perspective.

Why This Matters

If you’re stepping into a more visible leadership role, your online presence starts to carry weight.

People will often see you before they meet you.

They’re forming an impression based on:

  • how clearly you communicate

  • how consistently you show up

  • how confident and aligned your profile feels

Your photos support all of this.

They help you look considered, credible, and intentional — without needing to say it outright.

A final note on visibility

Leadership doesn’t need to look one particular way.

But it does need to be visible.

For many people, this is the part that feels uncomfortable.
Not because they don’t have something to say but because being seen at a new level asks something of them.

If that’s you, you’re not alone.

Before focusing on what to post next, it can be useful to pause and reflect.

A few questions to consider:

  1. Where is your leadership already present, but not yet fully seen?

  2. What are you currently trusted for or relied on — and where does that visibility stop?

  3. If someone came across your profile today, would they see who you are now, or who you were a few years ago?

  4. What parts of your leadership feel clear internally, but aren’t yet expressed externally?

  5. Where might you be holding back, not from lack of capability, but from not fully deciding how you want to be seen?

If you’re navigating this shift, I’ve created a short powerful Visibility Liberation video series to support you.

It’s a practical and honest look at what it means to step forward, be seen, and build a presence that feels aligned, not performative.
